The JET (Japan Exchange & Teaching) Programme is aimed at promoting grass-roots international exchange between Japan and other nations.
Nationals of Barbados are eligible to apply for this programme.

Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Programmes
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan offers prestigious scholarships to international students seeking to pursue studies in Japan.
Scholarship opportunities are available by Embassy Recommendation for Research Students and College of Technology (KOSEN) Students.
1. Research Students Postgraduate level: Master’s or Doctoral degree
For nationals of Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica or St. Kitts and Nevis who wish to study in graduate courses (Master’s or Doctoral) at Japanese universities as Research Students (either regular students or non-regular students) under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Programme.
2. KOSEN Students Undergraduate level: Associate degree
For nationals of Barbados who wish to study at Japanese college of technology (KOSEN) as College of Technology (KOSEN) Students under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Programme.

Cultural Resource Library
The Cultural Resource Library at the Embassy of Japan in Barbados is open to the public and provides a lending service featuring a collection of books and DVDs related to Japan. These items are available for off-site use.
