Visa Application for short-term business travel, Certificate of Eligibility holders with ERFS Certificate (受付済書)

1. Information for applicants

A. Short-term Business Visa for passport holders of 68 countries/ regions (i.e. Barbados, UK, USA, CANADA) (*1)

To enter Japan for up to 90 days on business related purposes without a Certificate of Eligiblity, for passport holders from countries previously covered by the currently paused visa exemption schemes.
  1. Visa application form (Please do not paste the photo as indicated on the form)
  2. One passport-sized photograph approx : 45mm x 35mm or 2in x 1.4in (taken within the last 6 months)
  3. Valid passport
  4. Your certificate from the Entrants, Returnees Follow-up System (ERFS) applied for by your receiving organisation (link in Japanese)
For a Multiple-Entry Short Stay visa: To apply for a multiple-entry short stay visa (valid for one year):
    5. ERFS certificate with "Yes" selected for "Intention of applying for Multiple Entry Visa" 
    6. Request for a Multiple-Entry Visa (English / Japanese)

B. Short-term Business Visa for passport holders from other countries/regions

  1. Visa application form (Please do not paste the photo as indicated on the form)
  2. One passport-sized photograph approx : 45mm x 35mm or 2in x 1.4in (taken within the last 6 months)
  3. Valid passport
  4. Flight booking confirmation (please do not buy tickets until you have received your visa)
  5. A letter from the applicant's company in Barbados
(Please include the applicant’s full name, position, passport number, purpose and duration of the business trip. In addition to this, describe the company's financial responsibility for the expenses incurred during the trip)
 
　　Prepared by inviting person/guarantor in Japan:
  1. Letter of Invitation
  2. List of Visa Applicants (when there are multiple applicants)
  3. Itinerary during stay in Japan
  4. Your certificate from the Entrants, Returnees Follow-up System (ERFS) certificate applied for by your receiving organisation (link in Japanese) 
　　If the Japanese guarantor is paying for the travel expenses, the following documents should also be prepared:
    6. A certified copy of the incorporation register or an overview of the company or organization

C. Work or Long-Term Visa Application with a Certificate of Eligibility

  1. Visa application form (Please do not paste the photo as indicated on the form)
  2. One passport-sized photograph approx : 45mm x 35mm or 2in x 1.4in (taken within the last 6 months)
  3. Valid passport
  4. Your certificate from the Entrants, Returnees Follow-up System (ERFS) (link in Japanese) applied for by your receiving organisation
  5. Your Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) and copy of CoE
*If your Certificate of Eligibility is older than three months, please see here for guidelines. Your sponsor will need to prepare the Declaration Certificate described in the guidelines. 
    6. Students and technical intern trainees, who applied for their CoE before June 21st: Confirmation Letter of Fast Track/Visit Japan Web
